Hi All!

Here is your weekly dose of TEJI, a weekly round up of what I’m pondering and exploring. Feel free to forward along to a friend if you think they might enjoy.

The Movie of The Year

Last night I watched Megalopolis. It’s an epic sci-fi film that inspires hope for the next generation. Unfortunately it’s garnering a lot of hate. However, I thought the movie was fucking awesome and would suggest anyone into The Future and even History to check it out. It was self-funded and directed by Francis Ford Coppola (The director of The Godfather) and I think this movie will eventually become a classic. We need more movies and entertainment that inspires hope to the next generation and this does exactly that.

Humans are stronger we think

It’s easy to look at the world and come to the conclusion that humans fucking suck. People are dying every day from war and disease and the economy right now sucks. It’s practically impossible for people of my generation to buy a house without financial help from family or working their asses off.

However, sometimes it’s good to zoom out and pay attention to how much abundance we do live in. While I understand I’m in an extremely privileged position to even be sitting in my room having just ate breakfast at my computer with an internet connection. It should be noted that in general humans have made giant leaps over the past hundred years and things while definitely not perfect are trending upwards.

If you don’t believe me and want a little bit of hope for humanity check out the video below for a great explanation by John Green.

In Favour of Slow Growth

Found this fantastic quote on X last week.

“Everything that is great in life is the product of slow growth.” - William George Jordan

The below summarises one of my core beliefs being as fast as you rise will be as fast as you fall. From my experience slow growth means longevity. It’s painstakingly more hard to not want the instant gratification we all crave but in my humble opinion if we can swallow our pride and wait a little longer we can often see much better results in any area of life.

Surrendering control

Theres a great newsletter I read called Monologue by Bobby Hundreds. Here’s an extract below on something I found insightful from one of his posts last week.

From my experience a lot of unhappiness and self inflicted pain comes from when our vision of reality doesn’t match up to our existing reality. This tension can often cause intense spirals that only inhabit our happiness.

While this is still something I struggle with. I find it very helpful to develop a kind of faith and trust in whatever god you might believe in. By relinquishing control and trusting that things will be okay — it opens a reality to where pain isn’t the thing we cling to for comfort anymore.

Also, keep in mind I’m not saying become a bag in the wind and float wherever life takes you. I’m saying let go of some of the pressure you put on yourself to need to perform and live up to often unrealistic expectations not only from yourself but from friends and family.

Becoming an Onchain Creator

Huge thank you to everyone who came out to my event last Friday night. It was super fun doing my first ever presentation to a group of people interested in what I had to say. For anyone who missed the workshop you can check out my presentation over on X below.

Feel free to give me feedback on Twitter. What did you like? What do you want more of? What do you want less of? Other suggestions? Please let me know. Just send a tweet to @TEJITOPIA and put #TEJITUESDAYS at the end so I can find it.

Hope everyone enjoys their week!

Love
