free workshop, the internet is rigged, something important, your path, optimism
TEJI TUESDAYS
Issue #045 · 3rd September, 2024
Hi All!
Here is your weekly dose of TEJI, a weekly round up of what I’m pondering and exploring. Feel free to forward along to a friend if you think they might enjoy.
I’m throwing an event in Sydney!
Great news! I will be hosting my first ever free workshop next month for anyone with an interest in NFTs and the blockchain. It will be super hands on and beginner friendly so I’d love to invite any of my readers to come along to the event.
Note: spaces are extremely limited since I can only teach so many people at once so if you’re interested you can register your spot here → click me.
How the internet is rigged
Huge shoutout to my friend Joe for putting me onto the vlogbrothers youtube channel ran by John and Hank Green. I hadn’t known the two brothers were behind so many different projects. For example they helped create the iconic VidCon and the popular Crash Course channel on YouTube. John is also the author behind The Fault in Our Stars.
The video below is the video my friend had sent me. I found it to be a really interesting take on how the internet is structured in a way to help companies more than the actual people who use these platforms.
This feels important
As someone always looking forward to life’s spectacular moments this feels like an important reminder that sometimes life is mundane and there’s a beauty in that.
Accepting YOUR path
It’s so easy to look at other people you might admire or even your peers and compare yourself to them. You might think other people are further along in their journey than you. Perhaps they’re making more money, travelling more or maybe even starting a family.
It’s easy to fall into this comparison trap and think what you have or where you are is not exactly where you’re supposed to be. It’s been a long uphill battle for me learning to accept that this is my path that I’m on and not anyone else’s.
This has helped me to achieve a radical freedom of sorts by accepting my journey is going to look completely different from almost every other human on the planet.
Staying optimistic in a world of pessimism
The video above is a short I love from John Green, the one I was talking about a few sections above. Check it out if your feeling pessimistic as humans and think we suck.
Feel free to give me feedback on Twitter. What did you like? What do you want more of? What do you want less of? Other suggestions? Please let me know. Just send a tweet to @TEJITOPIA and put #TEJITUESDAYS at the end so I can find it.
Hope everyone enjoys their week!
Love
