upcycling homeless clothes, my book club, bringing back beauty, a quote, slowing down

Hi All!
Here is your weekly round up of what I’m pondering and exploring. Feel free to forward along to a friend if you think they might enjoy.
Giving Balenciaga to the Homeless
Check out this vlog from one of my favourite artists Austin Babbitt. In the video he trades designer brands like Balenciaga and Denim Tears with homeless people for their clothes. This was one of my favourite videos I’ve seen on YouTube in a long time. I think what he is doing is so sick deserves to be checked out if you have a spare twenty minutes.
My book club
Last week I announced that I’ve started my own book club for guys (or girls if they’d like to join) who want to get more into reading. We plan on starting Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy this Friday, if you’d like to join in on our weekly discussions. Everything is completely online and you can read and participate on your own times in our group chat.
Although I have a global audience, I’d like to also find a time perhaps once a time at the end of the month to discuss the book in a call for half an hour or so.
If you’re interested in joining here is the link.
We need to bring beauty back into our environment
Yesterday I stumbled upon this clip on X. I found it really interesting how Tucker believes that post modern architecture has been created to destroy your spirit. The rise of minimalism and loss of craftsmanship and detail is something I’ve spoken briefly on in my newsletter a while back, and think it’s an important trait we can’t afford to lose. The human hand, and creative expression is so important to us as humans and more people should try push to bring beauty back into the world.
Tucker Carlson: "Moscow has not been degraded by postmodern architecture that destroys your spirit"
Chris Cuomo: "You believe postmodern architecture is designed to kill your spirit?!"
Tucker: "Of course." Cuomo: "Why?"
Tucker's answer will blow your mind. A rant for the ages:

A quote I liked
Thank you to my friend Mia for sending in this quote!
“When your phone is a mirror, everything is a selfie”
If you’d for some more context on the quote check out the TikTok here for the breakdown.
If you ever have anything interesting please don’t be scared to DM me and I’ll happily share it on the newsletter.
Slow down and listen
Check out this great extract by David Foster Wallace below.
This frames exactly how I’ve been feeling lately. Learning to let go and accept the surprises and uncertainty of life has been extremely freeing. It’s easy to get in your own way and miss out on opportunities right in front of you, because you think you know what’s best. Slowing down and accepting whatever is on your path can open new doors you would’ve never even though existed.
Feel free to give me feedback on Twitter. What did you like? What do you want more of? What do you want less of? Other suggestions? Please let me know. Just send a tweet to @JETLRWILLIAMS and put #JETSJOURNAL at the end so I can find it.
Hope everyone enjoys their week!
Love
